This is a beard trimmer from the Philips “Series 1000” line (model BT1235/15) designed for everyday grooming.
It features self-sharpening stainless steel blades, which are designed to maintain their cutting performance over time.
Has multiple trim lengths: According to the specification you can select beard lengths of 1 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm with combs, or a “zero trim look” (≈ 0.5 mm) without comb.
Runtime: Up to 60 minutes cordless use after a full charge (charging via USB) thanks to “DuraPower” technology.
Charging & power: USB charging is supported (makes it convenient for travel), and there’s a travel-lock to prevent accidental start.
It also includes indicators for battery status (low/charging) and is easy to maintain (the trimming head can rinse under tap).
Consistent grooming performance: The self-sharpening steel blades stay sharp “day 1” like performance which means you don’t prematurely feel tugging or uneven trim.
Multiple length settings: Whether you want short stubble (1-3 mm) or more grown beard (5-7 mm) or even a clean zero-trim (0.5 mm) look, the device gives flexibility.
Cordless convenience: 60 minutes run time gives you enough time for a full groom without being tethered; USB charging means you can plug it into many devices/adaptors.
Travel-friendly features: Travel-lock avoids accidental switching in your bag, USB charging means fewer bulky chargers required.
Skin-friendly trimming: Designed to protect skin — the blades have rounded tips and the combs are sized for safe contact; good for everyday usage.
Easy cleaning & maintenance: Rinseable head makes cleaning simple, prolonging lifespan and hygiene.
Good value for everyday use: A solid pick for basic beard grooming without going into ultra premium price bracket.
Here’s a step-by-step recommended usage guide:
Charge Before First Use
Use the supplied USB cable to charge the unit. Philips recommends charging for about 8 hours to get full runtime.
Ensure the battery indicator shows “ready” before cordless grooming.
Select Your Trim Length
Attach one of the combs: 1 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm depending on how long you want your beard.
If you want the cleanest look (≈0.5 mm) you can remove the comb and trim with bare blade.
Trimming the Beard
Start with clean, dry facial hair. For thick hair, you may want to comb through first.
Place the trimmer at the desired angle and move against your beard growth direction for even trim (with comb) or with light strokes for zero-trim.
Use slow, controlled passes; don’t rush to avoid unevenness or missed spots.
Detail & Shape
After trimming the main bulk of the beard, you can remove the comb if you want sharper edges around the jawline, neckline and moustache.
Use the bare blade carefully for edging; the self-sharpening steel gives good precision.
After Use & Cleaning
Detach the trimming head and rinse under running water — this model supports rinse cleaning.
Dry the head and the body of the trimmer thoroughly before storing.
Re-attach the head after drying and lock the travel-lock (if applicable) for safe storage.
Maintenance Tips
Replace combs/blades (if sold separately) when trimming performance drops or you notice tugging.
If battery runtime drops significantly, you may need to consider professional servicing or contacting Philips support.
Keep the device in a dry place; avoid long-term exposure to moisture.
