The TV Paint Stick is from the professional brand Kryolan, and is described as “Kryolan’s most popular foundation in stick form for those who want full coverage with a matt finish.”
Key formulation points: it’s a hybrid (oil + waxes) base which makes it “incredibly durable”. It has an average pigment coverage of more than 35% — meaning strong concealment capability.
Size typically 25 g for the full stick version.
Usage: Suitable for many skin types; may be sheered down for lighter coverage using a blending product.
For your kind of work (brand-asset creation: desktop hero banners, mobile formats, square social etc) this product offers several useful advantages:
High coverage & uniform finish: Because of its high pigment count and durability, it helps you get a very even base which is crucial for visual asset work where skin tone consistency matters.
Matte finish: The stick gives a matte finish, which works well under photography/video lighting and for digital assets where unwanted sheen can be distracting.
Professional/kit-ready formulation: Since this is from Kryolan’s pro line, it aligns well with a professional toolkit (making consistent visual assets across models/formats).
Flexible application: While built for strong coverage, the product can also be sheered down if you want a more natural or lighter finish (useful when you want assets to feel less “made up”).
Shade variety and refill options: There is a wide shade range, and refills/palette formats are available (which helps when you do multi-model shoots or need mixing flexibility).
Here’s a professional step-by-step approach tuned for your brand/asset workflow:
Prepare the skin
Cleanse and moisturise the skin so you have a smooth, even surface. Because this is high-coverage, any texture or dryness will be more visible.
If your model’s skin is oily/humid environment, you may apply a mattifying primer or blot excess oil first.
Apply the stick
On moisturised skin, apply the stick (25 g size) either by drawing lines on key zones (cheeks, forehead, chin) or by applying some product on the back of your hand and picking up with a brush/sponge.
Kryolan’s instruction: “Apply on moisturised skin and blend with a foundation brush or sponge of preference.”
Work from the centre of the face outwards for a smoother blend.
Blend & build coverage
Because of the strong pigment, you might only need moderate amount. For areas needing extra coverage (e.g., discoloration, uneven tone) apply thin additional layers rather than one heavy coat.
If you want lighter coverage, you can “sheer down” the product using Kryolan’s Make-up Blend tool as noted in the description.
Set / Finish the base
Especially for your asset work: setting the base helps it hold during photography/video and across formats. Use a compatible powder or setting spray as per your lighting/capture requirements.
You may want to do a quick test shot (desktop resolution, mobile capture, square format) to ensure the finish and tone look correct.
Proceed with additional makeup / visual asset capture
After base is applied and set, you can proceed with the rest of the makeup (eyes, lips, blush) in line with your brand’s visual aesthetic.
Since you output across multiple formats, check the result on the device(s) you're targeting: mobile, desktop, etc.
Removal & after-care
At end of the shoot or day, remove thoroughly. Kryolan notes that using a good makeup remover (e.g., Natural Cleansing Oil or Lotion) is best, because this high-coverage foundation is more persistent.
Follow with skin-care – important if you use heavy base work often for production.
