This product is part of the Kryolan Dermacolor Camouflage Creme line: "an especially highly pigmented make-up which is designed to correct and cover skin disfigurements, discolorations and tattoos."
Shade: D4 (part of the “D-series” of this line).
Size: 4 g (the smaller refill / sample size) — suitable for spot correction or specialist use.
Key claims: Once used in the full Dermacolor system (cream + fixing powder + fixing spray), it becomes waterproof and resistant to extreme conditions (heat, swimming, physical strain) and protects the skin from UV.
The shade range is extensive and inter-mixable, allowing custom matches.
High coverage corrective product: Designed to cover significant discolouration, uneven tone, visible skin irregularities — good for professional makeup, photography, videos and brand visual work.
Professional grade finish & durability: As it’s from the Kryolan pro line, the product offers strong performance — ideal for your brand asset workflows where consistency across images/formats is critical.
Small format & specialist use: The 4 g size makes it suitable for targeted use (e.g., spot correction, around face/neck) — helpful in a kit for visual asset production rather than full-face daily wear.
Flexibility with shade mixing: Because the Dermacolor line allows inter-mixing of shades, you can fine-tune the D4 shade (or mix with adjacent shades) to match skin undertones, especially relevant if you work with models of varied skin tones.
System compatibility: When used with the fixing powder & spray, you’ll get improved wear and durability — useful if shoots are long or under humid/heat conditions (such as in India).
Here’s a suggested step-by-step geared for your advanced/brand visual use:
Prep the skin
Cleanse and moisturise the area to be covered. Because this is high-pigment, it's important the skin surface is even (no heavy dry patches or flakiness).
For oily skin or humid environments consider using a light mattifying primer or blotting beforehand.
Warm the product
Use a clean spatula or fingertip/brush to pick up a small amount of the D4 cream.
Warm it on the back of the hand or palette so it becomes more pliable and easier to blend. (Brand tip: “For best results always warm the cream to body temperature by mixing it on the back of your hand.”)
Apply & blend
Dab the product onto the area needing coverage — e.g., discolouration, uneven patches, etc.
Blend the edges carefully into the surrounding skin to avoid visible demarcation. Because the pigment load is high, thin layers built up often give a better finish than one thick application.
Since you’re working in brand asset mode (desktop/mobile visuals, high-resc shots), check under your actual lighting whether the tone aligns with neck/face.
Fix & set
After blending, apply the matching Fixing Powder (and/or Fixing Spray) in the Dermacolor system to lock in the coverage and increase durability. This step is crucial if you want the waterproof/sweat-resistant benefit.
Use a puff/brush to press in the powder, remove excess, and blend seamlessly.
Continue your makeup/asset workflow
After correction, proceed to full face makeup if required (foundation for remaining face, blush/contour etc).
Given you produce brand visuals, you may want to take a test shot (with your usual mobile/desktop setup) to ensure skin tone appears correct in the final asset.
Removal & after-care
At the end of the day/shoot, use a proper makeup remover (especially since this is heavy coverage) and follow with skincare. Frequent use of strong camouflage products calls for good skin care afterwards.
