This is a highlighter duo from Fenty Beauty (by Rihanna) called Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter. Shade pairing: “Lightning Dust / Fire Crystal”.
It’s described as a weightless, long-wear cream-to-powder hybrid highlighter that can give everything from a subtle daytime glow to a supercharged shimmer for night.
The duo format: on the left is the more subtle sheen (Lightning Dust) and on the right the intense shimmer (Fire Crystal).
Formulated to work for face, eyes, and even body (collarbones, shoulders) to “light up where you want, when you want.”
Dual finish flexibility: You get both a subtle sheen and a super-charged shimmer in one item, which is ideal for your workflow where you vary between soft luxury aesthetics and high-impact visuals.
Cream-to-powder hybrid formula: Offers the blendability of a creamy product and the staying power of a powder – helpful in humid environments (like your region) and in long content-shoot sessions.
High quality shimmer: The shimmer is superfine, giving an ultra-smooth, “melts into skin” effect rather than looking chunky.
Versatile application: Can be used on face, eyes, collarbone, body – which aligns well with your lifestyle / brand-photo needs.
Inclusive shade design: The brand emphasizes this highlighter line is designed for all skin tones.
Here’s how you can integrate this into your beauty-workflow (especially given your strong focus on visuals, product photography, and luxury aesthetic):
1. Prep your skin / area
Ensure the area to be highlighted is smooth and prepped – for high-res visuals, any texture will show.
If you’re going to use on body (collarbone/shoulder) for lifestyle visuals, lightly moisturize and have a matte base so the shimmer pops cleanly.
2. Choose which side
For daytime / softer glow: use Lightning Dust (the left side).
For event / shoot / high-impact look: use Fire Crystal (the right side).
You can also layer: light sweep of Lightning Dust + accent of Fire Crystal for dimension.
3. Application technique
Use a highlighting brush (the brand suggests the “Cheek-Hugging Highlight Brush 120” – sold separately) for precision.
For face: sweep over cheekbones, brow-bone, cupid’s bow, nose bridge.
For body/lifestyle visuals: sweep along collarbone, top of shoulders, maybe down the centre of the arm for drama.
Because you focus on image quality: ensure brush strokes are smooth, avoid clumps of shimmer, and blend edges so it looks seamless.
4. Layering & finishing
If you want strong glow: apply first layer of Lightning Dust then add Fire Crystal on top of the high points.
After application, check under the actual lighting you’ll shoot in (studio light, daylight, mixed light) to ensure the shimmer reads well—not too glittery, no weird flashback.
For longevity: set lightly with translucent powder if needed (especially in humid climates) but avoid mattifying the shimmer too much; you want glow, not flat.
Carry a small brush/spare to touch up during a shoot or event (especially if you’re moving around, light changing, etc.).
